WHY ZONE 20A INSTITUTE IS SO SPECIAL?

Sep 17 + 18, 2010, Kampala, Uganda

Zone 20A Institute 2010

Rotary International is divided into 34 Zones. Zone 20 is composed of 72 countries sub-divided into Zone 20A and Zone 20B. Zone 20A, to which our District 9200 belongs, covers 47 African countries and is composed of 13 Districts; 710 Clubs and about 21,000 Rotarians! A Zone Institute is a high level conference for training, exchanging ideas, and motivating Rotary officers, especially District Governors-Elects. It is convened by an RI Director or Past Director designated by the RI President. This Zone 20A Institute is very special for District 9200 and for Rotary in Uganda in many ways:

  • It’s the first time for D9200 to host an Institute
  • The Convenor, Rtn. Sam F. Owori is the first RI Director from D9200
  • The conference will be attended by then RI President Ray Klinginsmith, PDGs, DGs, DGEs and various senior Rotary leaders from around the world. As RI Director Sam Owori puts it, “This is about as close as it gets to an RI Convention!”
  • The Institute has been specially opened to all Rotarians and Rotaractors in D9200 PHF and other TRF recognitions will be presented to the recipients by then RI President Ray Klinginsmith
  • This Institute, the climax of which will be The Rotary Foundation Gala Dinner, will be an exciting learning experience and an opportunity for us to show the world the uniqueness and dynamism of District 9200.
