ROTARIAN STEPHEN MWANJE, DGN 2010-11

Stephen Mwanje is a banker, and businessman. Born 28th February 1959, Stephen is married to Dorothy and they have 6 children. He holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Economics. He is currently managing his own business, BM Forex Bureau LTD. He is the founder and Chairman, Uganda Forex Bureau Association. Stephen has also been Board Chairman, PostBank Uganda Ltd from 2003 to January 2008.

Stephen is also a Trainer of Trainers and financial consultant. He is the Managing Partner of Modern Business Solutions, a Financial Consulting Firm. He is also a regular resource person for both the Uganda Institute of Bankers and the Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda (ICGU).

Stephen worked with Uganda Commercial Bank (UCB) for 15 years, from 1983 to 1998, rising through the ranks from trainee accountant to chief manager, International banking, before retiring to start his own business. Previously, he had worked with Makerere University, Institute of Statistics and Appied Economics as Teaching Assistant for 2 years.

In Rotary, Stephen is a member of the Rotary Club of Mukono and is currently the District Governor Nominee 2010/2011, D9200. He is also serving as the District Chair, RCC. He has served as District Secretary, Country Chair, Assistant Governor, District Conference Treasurer and Country Officer. He served as club President in 1998/99. He is also serving as the Project Manager, Uganda Rotary Home Project. Stephen has also been a Team Leader for GSE.
