Rtn. Christopher M.D. Mutalya
Chris
is an Architect, holds a B.A. Arch (St) and M. Arch. of the University
of Nairobi. He is a corporate member of the Uganda Society of
Architects and a Registered Architects, and an Associate Member
of the British Institute of Facilities Management. He is currently
serving as the Estates Manager of Uganda Communications Commission.
He has vast experience in infrastructure and property development,
management and maintenance and with wide experience in public
procurement.
A Charter President of the Rotary Club of Kyambogo-Kampala,
has served as District Officer for many years, mainly with New
Generations programs, served twice among the pioneer Assistant
Governors (1999-2000 and 2000-2001) and he has also served twice
as Country Chair for Uganda (2003-2004 and 2004-2005). Chris
is a multiple PHF and a Benefactor.
Born July 25, 1949, Chris is married to Rose. Rose is a Rotarian
in her own right, in the same Club, has gone through the ranks
of the Club and as Club President 2006-2007. She holds a B.A.
(with Education), Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration
and M.A. Education Management. She is currently serving as
a Deputy Registrar at Kyambogo University in Uganda.
The family is blessed with five children and three grandchildren,
all Ugandans. Cecilia, the baby of the house is an under-graduate
student of Procurement and Logistics at Kyambogo University,
and member of the Rotaract Club of Kyambogo. Justin, an Electrical
Engineer (Telecommunications) with MTN Uganda, is a Past-President
of the Rotaract Club of Nakawa and now a Rotarian and also
member of the Rotary Club of Kyambogo-Kampala. Chris, an
Accountant, currently on post-graduate studies in International
Accounting and Finance at Herriot-Watt University in Edinburgh,
Scotland is also a Past-President of the Rotaract Club of
Nakawa. Hudson, a Quantity Surveyor with Ministry of Works
and Transport, Ugnada, is a member and served twice as President
of the Rotaract Club of Rubaga. Margaret, a Registered Nurse,
is married to Jackson, a Medical Laboratory Technologist,
both working with Mildmay International in Uganda, are blessed
with two sons, Nixon and Nelson and a daughter, Ester.
In his public life, Chris has also served as a Council member,
Honorary Secretary and Vice-President of the Uganda Society
of Architects, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Uganda
Communications Employees Pension Scheme, and as a member
of the Executive and as President of Busoga College Mwiri
Old Boys Association.
