Eric Kimani is a Business leader, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist with extensive experience in the management of organizational change and emerging technology. He is also a motivational and inspirational speaker.
The Entrepreneur: Eric is the Founder of Palmhouse Dairies Limited (www.palmhousedairies.com), a successful Micro-Dairy processing plant set up in 1996; Mukore Academy), a national private primary school; Central Business School, Githunguri Campus- a tertiary college (www.cbsgithunguri.co.ke)
The Business Leader: Holds various Directorships/Board membership including I&M Bank, a privately held bank (www.imbank.co.ke); Kenya Association of Manufacturers (www.kam.co.ke); Kibo Fund, a Private Equity Fund based in Mauritius (www.cielgroup.co).
The Philanthropist: Founder and Chairman of the very successful Palmhouse Foundation (www.palmhsefoundation.org) an national education trust that finances the secondary education of deserving students and mentors them through life; Chairman of the Board of Trustees of HelpAge International, the leading global action group on ageing with its head office in London, (www.helpage.org); immediate past Chairman, Disciplinary committee of the Institute of Public Accountants of Kenya (www.icpak.com); Recipient of the 2008 Volunteer of the Year Award (VOYA) in Kenya.
The Rotarian: Eric is a passionate Rotarian past president of the Rotary Club of Nairobi North where he has been a member for over 20 years. He was a GSE Team Leader to district 5330 USA, is a major donor to The Rotary Foundation and has held various District and Country portfolios in the district (www.rotary9200.org),
Education/Profession: LLB (Laws) - University of London; Diploma in law- Kenya School of Law. Fellow of Certified Public Accountant (FCPAK); Member of Institute of Certified Public Secretaries (ICPSK), Member of Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and an Advocate of the High court of Kenya".
Career: 2008 to date - An entrepreneur, business leader, writer and inspirational Speaker.
2005-2008 worked as CEO at Sameer Africa Limited (www.sameerafrica.com); 2001-2004 Worked as CEO at Kenya Tea Development Agency (www.ktdateas.com); 1998-2000 worked at C. Dormans Limited as Finance Director; 1987-1998 worked at Williamson Tea and rose through the Ranks to Finance Director.
Eric is happily married to Rotarian Margaret and they are blessed with three children.
Eric is extensively traveled to many countries of the world.
